May 5, 2018

Philippine Ambassador to Australia HE Minda Cruz encouraged Filipino students in Victoria to continue engaging with the embassy and be active in its initiatives in a meeting at the University of Melbourne on Saturday, 5 May .

Representatives from UniMelb, Monash, Swinburne, Deakin, La Trobe, and Lawson College were able to ask the ambassador about their concerns and advice on pertinent

issues.

Meanwhile, the Philippines' labor attache, defense attache, and tourism attache to Australia also interacted with the students and talked about their offices' initiatives. Labor Attache Rodolfo Sabulao emphasised the importance of not violating Australia's labor codes in getting casual and part-time work; while Defense Attache Col Dennis Gammad highlighted the safety of the students.

The meet up was organised by the Filipino-Australian Student Council of Victoria, the main state-wide student hub of Filipino student organizations and the embassy's primary partner student organisation in the state.
